Spot is a fast-growing, digital-first pet insurance brand with a mission that goes beyond policies and premiums. To accelerate growth and deepen emotional connection, Genesis worked with Spot to reframe the category and tap into what pet parenting really means. Instead of leaning on product features, we led with values through a new positioning rooted in purpose: “Pets make us better humans. Better humans create a better planet.” This shift moved the brand from transactional to transformational. It told a bigger story rooted in emotional benefit and universal truths, not just insurance jargon.

This human values-based approach shaped the full brand experience:

  • A new value proposition that resonates across audiences, from first-time pet parents to seasoned dog lovers and rescue cat fanatics
  • A refreshed visual identity with the “Spot” name at its core, featuring a heart integrated into the letterform to symbolize the boundless love people have for their pets
  • Messaging and creative that is inclusive of all pets and celebrates everyday joy, not just crises or claims

This wasn’t just a brand update. It was a heartfelt invitation to join a movement built on empathy, responsibility and tail-wagging optimism.
